Drive Smart Pueblo is Offering Free Car Seat Checks by Certified Technicians Tomorrow, April 5

Pueblo, CO- Drive Smart Pueblo, in partnership with the Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo Fire Department, and Colorado State Patrol, announced that certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be offering free car seat safety checks on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pueblo Fire Station #2, 1800 Eagleridge Blvd. Technicians will check car seats, let caregivers know if their children are in the right seats for their ages and sizes, and show them how to install the right seats correctly.

For safety reasons, there is a correct seat for every age and developmental stage - from infants to teens. Whether it's a rear-facing car seat, a forward-facing car seat installed with a tether, a booster seat, or a seat belt, a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician can put parents' minds at ease by discussing correct car seat selection and showing them how to correctly install that seat in their vehicle. Children should stay in each seat and position until they outgrow those limits, and it's important for all children under 13 to ride in the back seat.

Monthly car seat check events will be held at various fire stations and locations throughout the Pueblo community.

June 7, 2025 Pueblo Fire Station #9, 4527 Surfwood Lane from 9am-1pm

July 12, 2025 Pueblo Police Department, Main Street Parking Garage, 110 S Main Street from 9am-1pm

August 2, 2025 Pueblo West Fire Station #2, 715 S McCulloch Blvd West from 9am-1pm

September 6, 2025 Pueblo Fire Station #11, 3205 W 24th Street from 9am-1pm

October 4, 2025 Pueblo Fire Station #8, 4495 Jerry Murphy Road from 9am-1pm

Outside of the car seat check events, individuals who would like to have a seat inspected can call the Pueblo Police Department at 719-553-2502 or the Colorado State Patrol at 719-288-2636 to make an appointment at a Fit Station throughout the community.
