Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Boyd Avenue and Broadway

Winnipeg, MB- The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two overnight structure fires.

Boyd Avenue fire

At 3:05 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, multi-family residence in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke and flames coming from the building. They launched a fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 3:37 am.

All occupants of the residence self-evacuated. No injuries were reported.

The City's Emergency Social Services team attended the scene to support the impacted residents.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.

Broadway fire

At 3:06 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey commercial building in the 600 block of Broadway.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the structure. They launched a fire attack, declaring the fire extinguished at 3:58 a.m.

There were no occupants in the building at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.


The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
