New Orleans Square Block Party June 27-28

The City of Broken Arrow is gearing up for its annual Block Party, on Friday and Saturday, June 27-28, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at New Orleans Square.

The New Orleans Square Block Party is an annual event celebrating the American experience. It is held at the intersection of New Orleans Street (101st Street) and Elm Place (161st Street), and it features live music, food trucks, and fireworks.

Mayor Debra Wimpee emphasized the event's significance to the community.

"This Block Party is Broken Arrow's official Fourth of July celebration - a time for our community to unite in patriotism and pride," Mayor Wimpee said. "We invite everyone to enjoy this family-friendly event, celebrate our nation, and create lasting memories together."

The two-night festival will feature an exciting lineup of artists on Friday, including John Elefante of Kansas, Kevin Chalfant of Journey, Glen Burtnik of Styx, and Brady Seals of Little Texas. Saturday will showcase performances by Paul Petersen and Ricky Peterson, who have toured with the Steve Miller Band, Peter Frampton, Kenny Loggins, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, and more.

Event promoter Brian Dean, owner of Waters Edge Winery, highlighted the event's festivities.

"We're thrilled to bring an incredible lineup of music, food, and fun to New Orleans Square," Dean said. "This event celebrates Broken Arrow's vibrant culture with live entertainment, great food trucks, and activities for all ages."

Food lovers will enjoy a variety of options from over 20 food trucks offering everything from Indian tacos and classic burgers to shaved ice and smoked meats. A selection of vendors will also provide crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos, and other engaging activities.

Families can look forward to the free Kids Zone, featuring bounce houses, face painting, and a new sprinkler zone where kids can cool off and play. Fireworks will cap off each evening's festivities, lighting up the sky on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Elm and New Orleans intersection, also known as New Orleans Square, will be closed daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. to ensure safety. Free parking is available in the northeast, southwest, and southeast lots. The northwest quadrant is reserved for disabled parking and is accessible from New Orleans Street. Arrow Heights Baptist Church will host the designated rideshare pickup and drop-off area. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. The fireworks will be visible from all over New Orleans Square.

The City of Broken Arrow asks everyone to leave their pets at home due to heat, loud noises, and limited water access. (City Ordinance 2067 prohibits dogs, except for service animals, at assemblies of over 1,000 people.)

Vendor Notice: All vendor spots are filled. Please note that the city will not contact anyone asking for money for vendor spots. Beware of scams asking for payment through social media or other platforms.
