Philadelphia Celebrates Community Leaders at the Annual PMBC Block Captain Rally

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC), a division of the Department of Sanitation, will host its annual PMBC Block Captain Rally. The event will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, at 1101 Arch Street (enter on 12th and Arch Streets - West side entrance, first floor 100 level) from 8am - 1pm.

Celebration of Dedication and Community Service

The PMBC Block Captain Rally serves as a cornerstone event to recognize and support the efforts of block captains who work tirelessly to improve their neighborhoods. It is a day for PMBC to celebrate and thank its extensive network of volunteers, and to provide them with City updates, resources, and education to continue to energize them to perform the vital work they do daily to keep their neighborhoods clean and safe.

The day will also include fun, music, line dancing, exhibitor tables, and workshops. City officials and dignitaries will offer brief remarks in the continued fight against litter and illegal dumping so we can make our communities shine brighter than ever for America's 250th birthday. To further support waste management efforts, recycling bins were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to residents with a valid ID.

Get Involved with PMBC

PMBC works with registered block captains to keep City blocks clean and green by promoting and organizing clean up events, providing cleaning tools, information, guidance, and support.

The PMBC Block Captain Rally is just one of the many ways the city engages with residents to maintain a cleaner and greener Philadelphia. If you're interested in becoming a block captain or learning more about PMBC initiatives, visit https://www.phila.gov/pmbc.
