Twenty-one pharmacy students were recently inducted into the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma, the national Pharmacy Leadership Society at Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. The honor society recognizes student pharmacists who demonstrate strong leadership, service and a commitment to advancing the profession of pharmacy.
Membership in Phi Lambda Sigma is highly selective and based on national criteria that recognize leadership experience, service, and professional involvement. In addition to these national standards, the Alpha Zeta Chapter maintains its own rigorous selection process.
The organization is one of the few student groups within the College that requires a formal application and interview process. Current Phi Lambda Sigma members play a central role in the selection process by reviewing applications, conducting interviews and evaluating candidates using a national scoring rubric.
The induction ceremony welcomed the new members into the Alpha Zeta Chapter, recognizing their leadership and dedication to serving the pharmacy profession. The chapter's faculty advisor, Dr. Beth Mills, a class of 1998 alumna of the College and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, attended the ceremony and is pictured with the newly inducted members.
"These students have demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, service and the advancement of the pharmacy profession," Mills said. "Induction into Phi Lambda Sigma recognizes not only what they have accomplished so far, but also the impact they will continue to make as future leaders in pharmacy."
Through their involvement in Phi Lambda Sigma, these students will continue to develop leadership skills while supporting the growth and advancement of pharmacy practice.
