Loma Linda University Health to Host No-Cost Medicare Educational Seminars Ahead of Annual Enrollment Period

As the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period approaches, Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) is inviting Medicare enrollees and their families to attend no-cost educational information sessions. These seminars are designed to help beneficiaries review plan details, ask critical questions, and navigate the changing landscape of healthcare options.

Medicare coverage can change significantly from year to year. LLUH experts encourage beneficiaries to review their options and not assume last year's coverage will automatically fit their current healthcare and financial needs.

To support the community, LLUH has scheduled more than 90 in-person and 22 virtual (Zoom) sessions starting in early October. The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period officially runs from October 15th through December 7th.

What Attendees Will Learn

The no-cost seminars will cover essential topics to help Medicare enrollees maximize their benefits, including:

• Will my doctor visits be covered & can I access the specialists and hospitals I need? Learn how to maintain or gain access to preferred networks.
• What will I pay when I need care? Navigate out-of-pocket expenses, premiums, and copays.
• Are my medications covered? Evaluate drug formularies and learn about resources like the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid's Extra Help program.
• What happens if my healthcare needs change? Understand care management, referrals, and prior authorizations.

The sessions are provided at no cost, and registration is not required. They are open to all community members, not just current HMO members. The presentations will cover Medicare Advantage, supplemental plans, and standalone prescription plans.
