Norman Police Investigate Injury Collision at Porter and Franks
March 4, 2026
The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to a report of an injury collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Porter Avenue and Franks Street at approximately 10:45 a.m. on March 4.
The initial investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing Porter Avenue when they were struck by a vehicle traveling southbound.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition for injuries sustained during the collision.
The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
Porter was closed to all traffic for just over two hours for the investigation. The roadway has been opened as of 1:25 p.m. on March 4.
