Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) announced that his brother, Alexander Vindman, will join him as his guest at the State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 24.
Lt. Col. Vindman, a retired U.S. Army officer and Purple Heart recipient, testified before Congress during the first impeachment proceedings of Donald Trump, raising concerns about presidential misconduct and abuse of power. His decision to come forward was rooted in his oath to defend the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.
"As a 25-year Army veteran, I was taught that our oath is to the Constitution, not to a political party or a president. Bringing Alex as my guest is about honoring the principle that no one is above the law," said Rep. Eugene Vindman. "At a time when democratic norms and accountability are under pressure, his service and courage represent the best of our country. His presence at the State of the Union is a reminder that constitutional duty and accountability are not partisan values, they are American values."
The State of the Union Address will take place at the U.S. Capitol on February 24 at 9:00 PM.
