Public Notice: Solicitation of Interest
ADL 234834
Pursuant to AS 38.05.945
(USGS Quad Map Seldovia C-5)
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received an application to lease state-owned lands for agricultural purposes including the propagation and cultivation of produce, to be located approximately 4.5 miles southeast of Anchor Point. The proposed lease is located directly adjacent to the applicant's private property, within the S1/2 of Section 24, Township 5 South, Range 15 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska. The area identified for a potential lease tract is approximately 22.25 acres. The request is for a 15-year lease under AS 38.05.070(c). The project would seek to expand the existing small-scale, organic family farm.
SCRO is soliciting interest under AS 38.05.070(d) to determine if there is intertest from other parties in developing this site for a similar purpose. If there is interest, SCRO will proceed with a competitive auction. If no interest is expressed, then SCRO will proceed with a negotiated lease application process.
To be considered a potential bidder expressing interest in a competitive auction, a person must express interest in writing before the expiration date of this 30-day public notice period and submit a complete application with a development plan within 30 days after the end of this public notice for solicitation of intertest.
If no additional qualifying application is received, SCRO will proceed with a negotiated lease application process. The negotiated lease application process will include the issuance of a Preliminary Decision and a 30-day public notice period to allow the public to comment on the project with more details on the proposed action, followed by a Final Finding and Decision on the proposed action.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT INTEREST:
Interest must be received in writing by DMLW, SCRO, on or before midnight on May 29, 2026, in order to ensure consideration.
IN ADDITION, a lease application and development plan must be submitted within 30 days of the above deadline in order to verify an entity's interest.
