GREENVILLE, N.C. (10/14/2026) - Through a new initiative called ECU Elevate, East Carolina University has reaffirmed its commitment to meeting students where they are by incorporating all transfer student options, agreements and program partnerships into one portal, providing access to ECU's wide range of transfer-friendly programs, effective transfer credit opportunities and partner advising resources.

The launch of ECU Elevate coincides with the biennial North Carolina Community College System conference, Oct. 14-16 in Raleigh, where ECU faculty and staff will join representatives from all 58 community colleges, as well as other higher education institutions in the state.

ECU Elevate is a vehicle for students who have not completed a degree or have earned an associate degree to maximize their transfer credit, credit for prior learning, and work and life experiences. ECU Elevate offers a transparent view of all the opportunities ECU offers transfer students in any ECU major, including more than 120 transfer pathways available through agreements with community colleges throughout the state.

"ECU Elevate is structured to build efficient and clear on-ramps to an ECU degree, helping students navigate the transition process smoothly and with care, and then providing the right fit that aligns with each student's life in the degree program they want," said Dr. Allen Guidry, vice provost for learner operations at ECU. "That's the power of ECU Elevate - high demand programs accessible through meaningful partnerships with an institution committed to student success, all aimed at preparing the workforce of tomorrow."

The initiative also highlights new partnerships with specific community colleges, as well as a forthcoming revised, system-wide program agreement with the NCCCS for the Bachelor of Science in industrial technology program, which will launch at the same time as ECU Elevate.
