Pickett, Baker Announce Just Over $1 Million in Funding for Wyoming County Projects

December 18, 2025

HARRISBURG -State funding totaling just over $1 million for projects in Wyoming County was awarded today, according to Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20).

The grant awards are as follows:

• Exeter Township - $70,000 to purchase a work truck and plow.
• Falls Township - $99,907 to purchase a vehicle with a fire suppression skid unit.
• Meshoppen Township - $133,135 to purchase municipal equipment for use in the township.
• Northmoreland Township - $200,000 to construct an Emergency Services Training facility.
• Overfield Township - $275,000 to construct improvements to enhance Teener Park, a 32-acre site.
• Southeastern Wyoming County - $200,000 for the purchase of a tractor to be used in the region.
• Nicholson Borough - $75,000 for the historical nature trail project.

"I want to thank our local officials for identifying these needs in their communities. I was pleased to work with Sen. Lisa Baker in advocating for the grants," said Pickett. "These projects will be important for improving our community without placing a further burden on taxpayers."

"These grants represent important investments in our environment, public spaces and local infrastructure," said Baker. "Whether it's restoring waterways, expanding recreational opportunities or supporting essential municipal projects, this funding will help communities strengthen quality of life while planning responsibly for the future."

The grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), which holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania's economic growth.

Area grants came from two sources of funding: the Local Share Account (LSA) and Marcellus Legacy Fund. LSA provides for the distribution of gaming revenues to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth. The Marcellus Legacy Fund was created by Act 13 of 2012 to provide for the distribution of unconventional gas well impact fees to counties, municipalities and Commonwealth agencies.
