August 20, 2026 - Haworth has earned multiple international design honors for closed-loop manufacturing, Hello seating and 4SPACE wall systems. The awards highlight a continued effort to create products and processes that deliver meaningful environmental, workplace and design impact.
Haworth's expanding closed-loop manufacturing process earned a Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) in the Furniture & Lighting category. Developed in partnership with Royal Technologies and PADNOS, the industry-first approach to circular manufacturing transforms plastic generated during task chair production, along with end-of-life chair components, into new chair parts without sacrificing material value or performance. This continuous recycling of chair parts significantly reduces waste, lowers demand for raw materials and decreases carbon emissions. As one of the longest-running and most prestigious design awards programs, IDEA honors achievements in industrial design that demonstrate innovation and positive societal impact.
Haworth's Hello seating collection, reimagined by renowned designer Patricia Urquiola, received Gold Certification in INT. DESIGN's prestigious Grands Prix Du Design Awards, an international competition recognizing excellence in architecture, interior design, product design and related disciplines. A family of active lounge chairs and poufs, Hello bridges the gap between traditional lounge and conference seating, supporting diverse workstyles and flexible environments.
Interior Designers of Canada's Value of Design Awards (VODA) presented 4SPACE single glazed and solid walls with an Honourable Mention in the Ceiling and Walls category. The awards celebrate outstanding interior projects, innovative products and student work, recognizing the impact of interior design and design thinking. Designed in Canada and manufactured in the United States, 4SPACE single glazed and solid walls create adaptable architectural enclosures that deliver consistent detailing, clean transitions and predictable installation across spaces.
