From 2 to 5 June, President Gitanas Nausėda will visit the Western Balkans, where he will attend the European Union-Western Balkans Summit in Tivat on 5 June. The summit will address issues related to European security, regional stability, EU enlargement, and a closer partnership between the European Union and the Western Balkans. A bilateral meeting between President Gitanas Nausėda and Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović is also scheduled for the same day.
On 3 June, the President will pay a working visit to Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he will meet with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar and Prime Minister Janez Janša. On 4 June, Gitanas Nausėda will pay an official visit to Tirana, Albania, where meetings are scheduled with Albanian President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Western Balkans region remains one of the key priorities of the European Union's enlargement policy. Lithuania consistently supports the efforts of the countries of the region to join the European Union and maintains that the Western Balkans' future lies within the EU. EU enlargement will also be one of the key priorities of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2027, as a strategic investment in Europe's security, stability, and prosperity.
First Lady Diana Nausėdienė will participate in the Bled Water Forum and in the panel discussion "From Source to Sea: Water-Climate Nexus and Cooperation for Water Resilience," moderated by Slovenia's First Gentleman Aleš Musar. In Albania, she will meet with the First Lady of Albania and with the Prime Minister's spouse, and on the final day of the visit in Montenegro, she will meet with Montenegrin First Lady Milena Milatović.
