Denver - Thursday, December 11, 2025 - The Denver Police Department (DPD) announces the arrest this afternoon of a DPD officer. Denver Police Officer Henry Soni was arrested on seven investigative charges for two separate, unrelated incidents.
The first case, in summary, involves a reported sexual assault by Officer Soni on November 4, 2025. Officer Soni was on duty at the time, but the reported offense did not occur during a call for service. The investigative charges related to this case include:
The second case, in summary, involves Officer Soni's handling of official records after conducting the on-scene investigation of a reported assault. The investigative charges related to this case include:
The Denver District Attorney's Office will make the final determination regarding charges.
Soni joined the Denver Police Department in 2024 and was most recently assigned to District Three Patrol. Beginning on November 5, 2025, and through the course of the sexual assault investigation, the Department removed Soni from his assignment and ordered him to be at home for an eight-hour shift each day during the work week. Due to the arrest today for alleged felony offenses, the Department suspended Soni without pay while the cases make their way through the judicial process.
The investigations are ongoing, and the Denver Police Department encourages anyone with additional information or who may have experienced inappropriate outreach by Soni, or was a victim of criminal conduct by Soni, to contact the Denver Police Department.
The Denver Police Department's administrative review of these incidents will begin once the criminal cases are adjudicated, and that administrative review process includes the Denver Department of Safety and the Office of the Independent Monitor, a civilian oversight agency.
The Denver Police Department is committed to transparency and accountability. When a Denver Police officer is arrested, DPD works to proactively share information in a timely manner, when possible. As with all arrests, the suspect is innocent until proven guilty.
