SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Roy Dean Faux, 53, of Rockaway Beach, Mo., was sentenced in federal court, for receiving and distributing child pornography.
Faux was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Stephen R. Bough to 262 months in federal prison without parole, followed by a 10-year term of supervised release.
According to court documents, Faux, a prior convicted sex offender, who pleaded guilty on Dec. 15, 2025, used cellular devices to receive files of child pornography. Law enforcement's investigation discovered Faux was utilizing social media applications to solicit the files of child pornography from other users.
Faux, who was already required to register as a sex offender, will continue to be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison and will be subject to federal and state sex offender registration requirements, which may apply throughout his life.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ami Harshad Miller. It was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, and the Taney County Sheriff's Office.
