HRPDC Hosts Webinar to Share Information About the Region’s First Climate Action Plan

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is excited to announce an upcoming webinar focused on the creation of the region's first Climate Action Plan. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded the HRPDC with a grant that will fund the development of this plan. The plan will be designed to provide environmental measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect our region from the impact of climate change and climate related illnesses. It is important that this plan reflects community priorities and perspectives.

Webinar Details:

Date: January 22, 2025

Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Location: Virtual Zoom Meeting

The webinar will feature a presentation from the HRPDC staff and a Q&A session. Participants will learn more about the HRPDC, what the Climate Action Plan could look like, and how community members can get involved. To register for the webinar, visit http://bit.ly/3VBV72C. Registration is required to attend the webinar.

The webinar will be followed by the launch of a community survey designed to gather feedback and suggestions to help the HRPDC better understand community needs and concerns. The survey is critical to developing the initiatives and programs outlined within the Climate Action Plan.

Community members can share their thoughts on how the HRPDC and its agency partners can best address climate concerns in Hampton Roads by filling out the short 10-minute survey at

www.hrpdcva.gov/climate. The survey closes on February 24, 2025.

The HRPDC team hopes you will join them for a virtual conversation about how you can help shape the Climate Action Plan. For more information about the HRPDC's Climate Action Plan, visit
