Beware of email phishing scam regarding Business Licensing Services

The City of West Jordan has been made aware of phishing emails, targeting businesses, that appear to come from City departments and reference permits, applications, or required fees.

These emails may include detailed project information, invoice breakdowns, and instructions to request wire transfer details. They often look official - but they are not from the city.

Important Reminder

All official West Jordan City emails will come from a @westjordan.utah.gov email address.
The City does not conduct official business from third-party domains and we do not request payment by replying to an email for wire instructions.

What To Do If You Receive a Suspicious Email

If you receive an email requesting payment, permit fees, or application processing:

  • Do not click any links.
  • Do not reply.
  • Do not send payment or financial information.
  • Verify directly with the City of West Jordan using contact information listed on our official website.
  • Call City Hall at 801-569-5000 if you are unsure whether a message is legitimate.

West Jordan City is committed to protecting our local businesses. If something feels off, pause and call us directly to confirm.
