Protecting Voters & Our Votes: State Attorneys General on Democracy’s Frontlines

A state attorney's general duty to protect the public interest has frequently involved protecting voters and elections. State AGs have a variety of tools to help ensure that all eligible Americans can vote and that their votes will be counted. That work has intensified with a President and federal administration that has been working to prevent eligible Americans from registering to vote, keep them from voting, and prevent their votes from being counted. What is the status of the legal challenges to the federal government's actions? What are the state-level challenges state attorneys general are addressing? And how can people outside attorney general offices work to protect voters and their votes?
