As part of the 9th edition of Fare Cinema (22-28 June), the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague organised two events celebrating Italian cinema.
On 24 June, the Institute screened Mediterraneo by Gabriele Salvatores, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1992. On 25 June, the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Marialuisa Pappalardo, joined composer, musician and producer Saro Cosentino for a discussion on the role of music in the creative process of filmmaking. Since 2006, he has focused primarily on composing soundtracks for films and documentaries.

Italy will be represented by a selection of films, including Homo sive Natura by Giovanni C. Lorusso, Rain Catcher by Michele Fiascaris, The Holy Boy (La valle dei sorrisi) by Paolo Strippoli, God Forgives Everyone (Che Dio perdona a tutti) by PIF, and Classmates (Domani interrogo) by Umberto Carteni.
