Following Industry Requests for Information, PPA Issues CMMC Level 2 Self Certification Frequently Asked Questions

Washington- Under the direction of ATA-MSC's Government Traffic Committee and Data Security Working Group, ATA-MSC has met with PPA leadership on several occasions to raise industry questions and concerns and has submitted comments for consideration related to the Department of War's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 Self-Certification. Following ATA-MSC's requests for additional information, on June 10, 2026, the Department of War Personal Property Activity (DoW PPA) hosted a Transportation Service Provider (TSP) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Workshop, during which industry raised several questions regarding CMMC Level 2 requirements.

DoW PPA consolidated a list of CMMC level 2 self-certification related questions received during and after the workshop, and today released its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 Self-Certification Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). The full document can be found below.
