Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs meets with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Thailand

On 2 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Zhang Jianwei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Thailand, to discuss bilateral relations between Thailand and China, as well as to exchange views on regional and international issues.

Both sides expressed their appreciation for the close bilateral ties between Thailand and China, particularly following the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the historic State Visit to China of Their Majesties the King and Queen in 2025. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and to advancing the implementation of the consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries toward concrete outcomes.

In addition, the two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues, including geopolitical and geoeconomic competition, tensions in the Middle East, and the Thailand - Cambodia border situation. They agreed that Thailand and China can play a joint leading role in addressing emerging challenges and in contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
