The NEB prizes for reward ideas for inclusive communities and sustainable living solutions. They are expanding their geographic footprint for 2026.
The European Commission has opened applications for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes 2026. Bringing together citizens, experts, businesses and public institutions, the NEB initiative seeks to develop solutions for sustainable living. The NEB Prizes and Boost 2026 are now open for projects and ideas that improve neighbourhoods and communities across Europe and beyond. In 2026, the NEB Prizes are extending beyond the EU, the Western Balkans and Ukraine. This year, for the first time, the list of countries eligible for NEB Prizes includes Moldova and also Japan and Brazil.
Better living space
The NEB brings together science, technology, art and culture to create better living spaces. Cities and communities face common challenges such as climate change, water shortages, demographic shifts, and housing pressure. The competition rewards projects and ideas that make neighbourhoods and communities more sustainable, inclusive and attractive. NEB encourages cooperation between communities and helps projects find EU funding while encouraging participation from young professionals and emerging talents.
