The artists, architects and scholars of UCLA's class of 2026 have spent years both exploring and creating work that inspires. A new digital publication from the Chancellor's Council on the Arts and UCLA Strategic Communications centers their stories during this celebratory time of year.
"In Practice 2026" gathers graduating artists, designers, performers, writers, educators and advocates from across UCLA's arts and humanities ecosystem, including the School of the Arts and Architecture; the School of Theater, Film and Television; the Herb Alpert School of Music; the UCLA College divisions of humanities and social sciences; and more. Filmmakers and composers reflect on their time at UCLA alongside architects, educators and literary artists, many of whom move fluidly and frequently across disciplines.
"UCLA students across the arts and humanities share a commitment to asking difficult questions and following them wherever they lead," said Lionel Popkin, dean of the School of the Arts and Architecture and chair of the Chancellor's Council on the Arts. "Their work reflects our belief that the arts and humanities are central to UCLA's mission."
"In Practice 2026" is the first edition of what will become an annual portrait of graduating students from across the arts and humanities It is available now as an interactive digital publication.
