Rep. Cisneros Statement on Government Funding, Rising Healthcare Costs

Washington, D.C. - Rep. Gil Cisneros (CA-31) released the following statement after voting against a government funding bill that failed to lower healthcare costs for millions of Americans:

"40 days after failing to fund the government, Speaker Mike Johnson finally returned to Washington-once again without a real plan to address rising healthcare costs. This bill does nothing to stop the Republican healthcare crisis. Just take a look at your healthcare premiums this open season. Parents will be forced to make the impossible choice between food, housing, or medication, thanks to Republicans' cruel and inhumane policies. The Republican healthcare crisis is making Americans sicker, poorer, and worse off. I could never vote for a bill that puts American families in that position."

Today, Leader Jeffries introduced legislation to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, allowing millions of Americans to get relief from the crushing costs of healthcare, which I wholeheartedly support.
