As part of its Rebuilding Our Communities Block Party series, DC Housing Authority (DCHA) hosted a community day event at Langston Terrace this past weekend.
Last Saturday, DCHA residents celebrated a fun-filled day with family, locals and friends. At the block party, attendees enjoyed food, live music, games, face painting, bounce houses, a foam pit and more.
DCHA staff and volunteers distributed free groceries to residents before the block party started. Additional giveaway items were distributed by some of the attending service providers.
Service providers were also available to provide information about various resources to residents and the community. These providers connect individuals with support regarding education, workforce development, job opportunities, healthcare and more.
DCHA's Rebuilding Our Communities initiative focuses on community building and providing access to helpful resources. DCHA will host additional block parties in this series at other public housing communities through October.
DCHA is grateful for the service providers who helped make this event possible.
