50 Faces of Volunteers – Matt Davis

Nominated by Fonda Davis, Finley Law Firm, Ankeny Tell us a little about the volunteer (brief bio - student/profession, location in Iowa, etc.): Matt plays a pivotal role in the success of Neumann Brothers, his 17-year career led him to become one of the owners, a Senior Project Manager, and Team Leader of Office Operations. Matt has demonstrated exceptional leadership, community involvement, and personal growth. Balancing parenthood, a demanding professional career, and extensive volunteer work, Matt consistently gives 100% to all his commitments. Matt's dedication to helping others and his unwavering commitment to meaningful causes make him an outstanding candidate for this honor. Matt's commitment to community service is evident through his extensive volunteer work. He has served in various roles on boards and committees, contributing his time and expertise to benefit the community, business, and families in Iowa. Some of his notable volunteer roles include:• Variety, The Children's Charity: Executive State Board Member, Vice President of Development• Ankeny Community Champions: Board Member, Secretary• Ankeny Chamber of Commerce: Board Member• Iowa Capitol Planning Commission: Appointed Member by Governor Reynolds• Ankeny Parks and Recreation: Volunteer Coach• Greater Des Moines Partnership: Des Moines Workforce Collaborative/Talent Development Council: Construction/Business Owner Representative • YMCA: Past Board Member• Master Builders of Iowa: Past Board Member• Building Owners and Managers Association: Member and past events committee member• Downtown Des Moines Chamber of Commerce: Member, Past Advocacy Committee Member Through his profession and company supporting various nonprofit organizations, Matt saw a need and found a passion to help others. This has quickly grown into him spending many hours a year contributing his expertise to many organizations. His passion to help others has lead him to meeting some of the most genuine people in the Des Moines Metro. This helps drive the fire inside him to continue helping with over 150 hours a year volunteered between these causes. In these roles, Matt not only participates but actively contributes to fundraising efforts and process improvements, ensuring the future success of each organization. He sees value in helping organizations survive and improve that help others. Through fundraising efforts, Matt has helped many children begin the process of gaining strength back in their legs with a hope to walk unassisted again. Some of this funding has also gone to numerous organizations that support at-risk, underprivileged, critically ill or those living with special needs. Matt's time does not only go to support children, he also helps local communities grow and develop opportunities for citizens to participate in events, activities and growth for their communities, and helping bring amenities they may not have access too. Another passion of him is talent development, he works with volunteer organizations not only to attract talent to our area but on how to grow talent, provide opportunities and streamline processes and communities to allow opportunities for all ages to enter the workforce to identify their strengths and plan for their future. Matt's unwavering dedication to his professional career, community services and personal growth makes him an exemplary candidate for this recognition. His presence at many of the local events, board meetings and volunteer opportunities has made him a resource for others looking to help. He has been told many times that he has motivated others to begin helping and reaching out to organizations they are passionate about. This warms his heart and he assist them with introductions when possible to better their lives and the others around him.
