WASHINGTON, D.C. -
Today, Congressman Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) attended the swearing in of Bernie Navarro as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Peru.
Ambassador Navarro brings experience in economic development, public service, and media that will be instrumental to advancing U.S. priorities in Peru and across the Western Hemisphere.
Ambassador Navarro's appointment represents President Donald J. Trump's commitment to America First polices and a significant step for U.S.-Peru relations.
"I congratulate my dear friend Ambassador Bernie Navarro on his swearing-in as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Peru. I am confident that he will serve with strength, clarity, and principle as he represents the United States in Peru," said Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez. "At a time when the Western Hemisphere faces increasing pressure from transnational criminal organizations, authoritarian regimes, and foreign influences that do not share our values, strong alliances matter more than ever. Under President Donald Trump's America First mission and the leadership of our great Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, the United States is more focused than ever on securing and strengthening our own hemisphere. Peru has long stood as a key partner in confronting these challenges, and today's ceremony reaffirms our commitment to that vital relationship."
