JJC, University of St. Francis Establish Guaranteed Admission Pathway for Students

Mar 11, 2026

Joliet Junior College (JJC) and the University of St. Francis (USF) announced a new guaranteed transfer agreement designed to help more students earn higher credentials while staying, working and contributing in their local communities.

Known as The Bridge Forward Partnership, the collaboration creates a clear, supportive pathway from JJC to USF bachelor's degree programs - elevating both institutions while strengthening the region's workforce and economic vitality.

"The Bridge Forward Partnership reflects the relationship between JJC and USF and our shared commitment to student opportunity," said Dr. Namuo, JJC president. "Together we are creating a clear and supportive path to ongoing education close to home, helping students change their lives and contribute to a stronger region."

"This partnership is an incredible step for education in Joliet" said Dr. Hendrickson, USF president. "We look forward to welcoming JJC students on our campus and helping them achieve their educational goals. USF is grateful for JJC's partnership in supporting students' needs."

The agreement guarantees admission for eligible JJC students into University of St. Francis undergraduate programs and aligns advising, communication and financial guidance to ensure a seamless transfer experience. Students who complete required coursework, maintain good academic standing and earn at least 60 transferable credits or an associate degree are guaranteed admission, subject to availability. As part of the partnership, USF may offer preferred tuition discounts, transfer-specific scholarship opportunities and early financial aid counseling to help students plan and afford their education.

By reducing uncertainty and improving degree completion outcomes, the partnership is designed to keep students on track academically and rooted locally.

The Bridge Forward Partnership helps ensure that more students earn bachelor's degrees while remaining connected to the region by aligning academic pathways and support services. The collaboration supports workforce development, strengthens local employers and reinforces both institutions' role as engines of educational attainment and economic growth.
