Congress Sends Chairman Scott's 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act to President Trump's Desk

Washington, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, sending Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott's (R-S.C.) landmark housing affordability legislation to President Trump's desk. The bipartisan, bicameral package, the most comprehensive housing policy bill of this century reflects years of work with the White House, Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill (R-Ark.), and Ranking Member Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) to cut red tape, unlock housing supply, protect taxpayers, preserve local control, and help more Americans achieve the American Dream of homeownership.

"Today, Congress delivered a major win for families working toward the American Dream," said Chairman Scott. "I know the power of a safe place to call home because I watched my mother work hard to make that dream possible for our family in North Charleston. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act will help more Americans put down roots, build a better future, and find not just a house, but a home, and I look forward to President Trump signing it into law."
