UMich Professor Coe Virtual Seminar – College of Pharmacy

Title: Policies and Strategies to Improve Medication Use in Older Adults: A Health Services Research Perspective

Speaker: Antoinette (Toni) B. Coe, PharmD, PhD, FAPhA, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and an affiliated faculty member with the Center to Accelerate Population Research in Alzheimer's. Her research examines how healthcare delivery and health policy impact medication use. She uses real-world data to examine how pharmacist-led medication reviews and medication management reduce inappropriate medication use and improve outcomes among older adults. Her research program also focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating community-based strategies and interprofessional care models that address health disparities. Dr. Coe's research has received funding from several organizations, including the National Institutes of Health, Michigan Health Endowment Fund, Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield, Michigan Region VII Area Agency on Aging, and the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education.
