During the 12th Open Day of the Personal Data Protection Office, which took place on 6 February 2026 at the WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza, the Office for Personal Data Protection was represented by Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the The Personal Data Protection Office and Monika Krasińska, Director of the Law and New Technologies Department.
The President of the Personal Data Protection Office gave an inaugural lecture entitled: Deepfake - data protection in the context of new technologies, addressing the risks arising from the dynamic development of AI-generated content. In his speech, he discussed, among others, practical examples of the use of deepfake technology for fraud and impersonation, the consequences of such actions for the protection of image, voice and reputation, as well as the challenges faced by data protection authorities in responding quickly and effectively. A special place was given to the analysis of the case concerning deepfake advertising, the application by the President of the Personal Data Protection Office of an interim measure against an online platform and the relevance of the judgment of the Court of Justice of the EU in the Russmedia case (C-492/23). The President also drew attention to the problem of deepfakes towards minors and the need to strengthen the protection of children against new forms of digital violence.
Monika Krasińska, Director of Law and New Technologies Department at The Personal Data Protection Office, discussed the legal aspects of new technologies during an expert lecture entitled: 'Cooperation between regulators and the data protection authority guarantees economic development using new technologies'.
The 12th Open Day of The Personal Data Protection Office was an opportunity for direct exchange of experiences between representatives of the Office, academia and practitioners, as well as for in-depth discussion on the current challenges of personal data protection in the era of dynamic development of artificial intelligence.
