Dining at WWU Partners with First Year Programs

September 24, 2024

Dining at WWU has launched their inaugural First Year Eats (FYE) program in partnership with Viking Launch and First Gen Pathways for early move-in students. Last week, students met with Dining at WWU Marketing Manager Alexandra Perez for an overview of meal plans, dining on-campus, answering questions and providing dining resources.

Resources include a FYE passport and bingo card to explore dining services and events, and JED foundation resources to help students settle into campus life for the first time.

Each of the two sessions ended with a special preview sampling of their new retail dining location, Bok Choy, located in the Viking Union.

Students were able to try a variety of items and provide feedback on the menu and taste of the food.

Dining at WWU looks forward to continuing this partnership and fostering student success from year 1! Their next event will be the Viking Commons Cheerful Special on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. in Viking Commons and adjoining Viking Union MPR Room.
