The Bryte Park Project reached two major milestones recently, marking significant progress toward the renovation and expansion of one of West Sacramento's most important community assets.
On March 18, the City Council approved a $48 million construction contract to build out the 24.5-acre Bryte Park site. The project will transform the City's largest park with a wide range of new amenities designed to serve residents of all ages, including: lighted soccer fields with an all-weather surface, new baseball and softball fields, a community pool and community room, splash pad, amphitheater, dog park, restrooms and concession building, lighted tennis courts, and a maintenance yard.
On March 19, the Washington Unified School District (WUSD) Board approved the Purchase and Sale Agreement and a Priority Use Agreement with the City. These actions are a key requirement tied to the $15 million grant awarded to the City by the National Park Service through the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program. The agreements ensure City ownership and long-term public access to the site, which are necessary conditions of the grant and critical to advancing the project.
Construction of Bryte Park is anticipated to begin in Summer 2026, with an estimated duration of approximately three years and completion targeted for Summer 2029.
The City extends its appreciation to the Washington Unified School District and all project partners who have contributed to advancing Bryte Park. Upon completion, the renovated park will provide enhanced recreational, health, and community benefits for residents throughout West Sacramento.
