Message from Prime Minister Edi Rama

Message from Prime Minister Edi Rama:

We have fought a historic and epoch-making battle for justice, for its independence from political power, to create the conditions where justice can be served for everyone, for all.

Now, to be accused of something related to justice regarding January 21st by someone whose profile name is "primary in PD" - this is both tragic and laughable.

However, it is not my intention to engage in any polemic with anyone commenting here. Let's focus on the core issue, because even many other commentators, driven by the desire for justice, forget that we live in a system where justice is not administered by the prime minister, the government, or the ruling party.

Therefore, I believe it should be very clear that all the claims, criticisms, or accusations directed at me or us for the lack of justice regarding January 21st are simply misdirected.

On the other hand, we have not remained idle; we have fought a historic and epoch-making battle for justice, for its independence from political power, and to create the conditions where justice can be served for everyone, for all.

Without the Socialist Party and my leadership, there would have been no Justice Reform, no SPAK, and no noticeable change in the justice system that we now see-a change visible to all those who choose to see it, even though this new path of justice may have many aspects that are open to criticism, and at times even things that are unacceptable. But this is a new path, where the new institutions have our full support. Part of this unparalleled support-something that has never been seen before, nor in our region-includes our commitment to refrain from commenting on specific cases, even when we may completely disagree with how they are handled.

What can I say about justice for January 21st? Do I have anything to say? I have so much that I cannot express it all, but even today, I will remain true to my stance of not commenting, hoping and wishing to believe that SPAK will not remain occupied with everything else for much longer, except for January 21st. Moreover, January 21st is a case as clear as daylight. Therefore, with each passing year, not only does the burden of shame grow heavier on those who must deliver the missing justice, but it also stains the very Justice Reform, dishonoring not just the families of the martyrs of January 21st, but an entire nation that demands and deserves justice for January 21st. Because justice for January 21st is not just justice for a past event, but for the Albania of today and tomorrow.
