Treasurer Stacy Garrity: $224 Million in Property Tax/Rent Rebate Payments Sent to Pennsylvanians

Harrisburg, PA - Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced that $224.4 million has been sent to 372,291 Pennsylvanians through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program.

"Every year the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program helps hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians make ends meet, and Treasury makes sure that they receive their money as soon as possible. These rebates make a big difference for some of our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians, and I encourage anyone who thinks they may be eligible to apply."

Rebate payments were issued today and included 244,169 electronic payments totaling $145.5 million and 128,122 checks totaling $78.9 million.

PTRR payments benefit Pennsylvanians 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older with incomes of $48,110 or less in 2025. The standard maximum rebate is $1,000, and half of Social Security income can be excluded when determining eligibility.

Eligible Pennsylvania homeowners and renters can apply for rebates through December 31, 2026. PTRR applications are approved by the Department of Revenue and Treasury will send future approved rebates as they are received from the Department of Revenue.

Last year, Treasury paid more than $315 million to about 515,123 Pennsylvanians.
