DALLAS - Mount Auburn STEAM Academy students turned an idea into tradition with the launch of their Spanish spelling bee, a competition inspired by fifth-grader Eddy R., to celebrate culture and pride. With most students identifying as Hispanic on campus, the event gave participants a chance to shine in their own language while encouraging confidence, belonging, and academic growth. What began as a student-led idea has grown into a meaningful celebration the school plans to continue.

Mobile CTE experience for students
The Dallas ISD CTE mobile lab will pay a visit to seventh graders at the School for the Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove at 9 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 1. The innovative trailer brings hands-on learning in high-demand career fields straight to the campus, giving students early exposure to future career ideas and opportunities.
ICYMI: Upcoming Athletic Hall of Fame nomination deadline
Dallas ISD invites the community to help shape the upcoming Athletic Hall of Fame class. Nominations are being accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 1, for individuals who exemplify the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character. Anyone may submit a nomination for a qualified candidate.

Dallas ISD hosted Dallas Bands United Marching Showcase and Battle of the Bands Saturday, Sept. 27, at John Kincaide Stadium. The event featured bands and drill teams from across the district, spotlighted student talent, celebrated the community, and inspired the next generation of performers.
