Leader Schumer Slams Acting Attorney General Blanche’s Refusal To Kill Trump’s $1.8 Billion Slush Fund

New York, N.Y.- Today, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) released the following statement after Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche refused to submit a signed statement to a federal judge certifying that the Trump administration's corrupt $1.8 billion slush fund would not move forward:

"Trump is hellbent on having his $2 billion MAGA slush fund and Todd Blanche is his number one accomplice.

"It is absolutely no surprise that the most corrupt president in our history refuses to back away from his most corrupt scheme yet.

"Todd Blanche's refusal to put in writing that Trump's slush fund is dead is a clear admission that he'll do everything in his power to ensure his boss's pay off plot will go forward.

"The only way to ensure Trump's corrupt, taxpayer-funded slush fund never sees the light of the day is to ban it permanently by law.

"Senate Democrats will continue to force Republicans to answer for Trump's slush fund again and again - and show who they really stand for: American taxpayers or Donald Trump."
