Gov. Rhoden Signs Bills to Support Higher Education Facilities

PIERRE, S.D. - Today, Governor Larry Rhoden signed three bills to support higher education facilities.

"Our students are the future of our state, and a well-rounded college experience helps set them up for success," said Governor Larry Rhoden. "Strong higher education opportunities build knowledge, leadership, teamwork, and dedication - skills that strengthen our campuses, communities, and state as a whole."

Governor Rhoden signed the following three bills to support higher education:

  • SB 117makes an appropriation for the design and construction of a new soccer venue at South Dakota State University and declares an emergency;
  • HB 1118makes an appropriation for the design and construction of an addition to the existing swine wean-to-finish barn at South Dakota State University and declares an emergency; and
  • HB 1137makes an appropriation for the design and construction of an athletic facility at the University of South Dakota and declares an emergency.

He signed these at a signing ceremony with representatives from the University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University. You can find photos from the signings here and here.

Governor Rhoden has signed 54 bills into law and vetoed one this legislative session.
