HELENA, Mont. - The Bureau of Reclamation will close access to all traffic across Canyon Ferry Dam on Montana State Highway 284, April 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The temporary road closure will allow Reclamation staff to safely conduct necessary inspection work on the dam infrastructure.
The work includes a complete inspection of the spillway bridge by the Federal Highway Administration. Travelers must seek alternate routes, north and south of the dam during the closure period. Emergency vehicles and first responders will be allowed to pass over the dam during the road closure but may face delays of approximately 15 minutes.
