Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman met in Zagreb on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, with a delegation of the North Adriatic Parliamentary Friendship Group of the German Bundestag, headed by its Chair, Christian Haase (CDU). The delegation also included Klaus-Peter Willsch (CDU), Christian Wirth (AfD) and Karl Bär (Alliance 90/The Greens).
The meeting reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations between Croatia and Germany, characterised by an intensive political dialogue, strong economic cooperation and a close partnership within the European Union and NATO. The interlocutors underlined the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in further strengthening the overall relations between the two friendly countries.
The participants exchanged views on current European and international issues, including the enlargement of the European Union, developments in South-East Europe, Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, the future reform of the European Union, and the implementation of the Common European Asylum System. They also underscored that the long-term stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina rests on the consistent implementation of the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement and the full constitutional equality of its three constituent peoples.
Grlić Radman emphasised the importance of continuing close cooperation between Croatia and Germany in promoting shared European values, strengthening security and stability, and further advancing bilateral political and economic ties for the mutual benefit of both countries.
