RALEIGH - Teague Campbell has announced a Campbell Law School student as the recipient of the 2025 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarshipawarded in memory of Mrs. Charlotte W. Clark, representing her values, community impact, and continued legacy.

Clinton N. Jones '28 was awarded the scholarships at a recent luncheon at the firm, according to Associate Director of Financial Aid Lisa Clark.

Jones currently serves as a Student Bar Association 1L Representative, an Admissions Student Ambassador and a member of the Black Law Student Association, Hispanic Law Student Association and the McIntyre-Whichard Legal Fellows Program.

He also provides meaningful pro bono service through the law school's student-led pro bono projects, including Capital Case Assistance Project, Capital Area Teen Court Project and the Wake County Legal Support Center.

In his personal statement, Jones emphasized his commitment to advancing representation within the legal field and using the law to support underserved communities. Raised with an understanding of adversity and resilience, he is dedicated to serving as a visible example for young Black men and ensuring that diversity becomes a lived reality within the legal profession. This commitment to representation, advocacy and mentorship speaks directly to the values embodied by Clark, whose legacy of service, compassion, and community leadership remains central to this scholarship.

"Teague Campbell congratulates Clinton N. Jones on this achievement and celebrates his dedication to advancing diversity and inclusion within the legal profession," Teague Campbell wrote in a blog post on its website. "Clinton's dedication to advocacy, mentorship, and expanding access to justice, especially for underserved communities, represents the future of our profession. His work on campus and in the community demonstrates the resilience, compassion, and leadership this scholarship was created to uplift."

Teague Campbell strives to create an inclusive and diverse environment within the firm and in the community. Along with the firm's Management Committees, its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committeeis dedicated to seeking and retaining the best legal talent available who share in our commitment to diversity by fostering awareness, understanding and appreciation of people from all backgrounds.

The firm's website continues, "Clark joined Teague Campbell on Feb. 23, 2007, as the firm's front desk receptionist. Prior to working for Teague Campbell, Clark was a dedicated public servant who worked with the Attorney General's office. Firm members learned very quickly that Clark was not only dedicated to her family and church, but her community as well. She and her husband, Wilbert Clark, were founders of the Juniper Level Baptist Church Missionary Food Bank where they dedicated many hours handing out food to the less fortunate in the community. Clark, otherwise known as Mrs. Charlotte, gave so much of herself to others through various causes in our community. She was an important part of the Teague Campbell family and inspired so many of us to strive for excellence. It is our hope that this year's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship in honor of Mrs. Charlotte will encourage and carry on her generosity of spirit."

The Teague Campbell DEI Scholarship is open to any student currently enrolled in an accredited North Carolina-based law school who actively participates in diverse community initiatives. Learn more at thislink.
