Tigers demonstrated extraordinary generosity during Mizzou Giving Day, making 3,095 gifts to the University of Missouri. Strong participation numbers exceeded totals from the past four years, signaling sustained momentum for Mizzou.

From scholarships that create student opportunities and research that advances discovery to MU Extension programs that serve every Missouri county, Mizzou Giving Day delivered immediate impact across campus and throughout the region. Alumni, faculty, staff and friends from all 50 states took part in the effort from noon on March 11 to noon on March 12, reflecting the strength and reach of Mizzou's land-grant mission. They were joined by contributors from around the world, including those in Australia, England, Portugal and Taiwan.

"Mizzou Giving Day showcases the power of a united Tiger community," University of Missouri President Mun Choi said. "Together, we are investing in Missouri's future, accelerating innovation, expanding access to a world-class Mizzou education and delivering more impact for all we serve, while also leading on issues that matter nationally and globally."

Thirty-three colleges, schools and units participated, besting the previous year and marking one of the broadest campus engagements in the day of giving's nine-year history. The $1.9 million raised will count toward Power the Roar, Mizzou's ambitious $2-billion campaign to deliver solutions to global challenges and improve lives across Missouri and beyond.

"When Tigers rally around a shared purpose, the impact is immediate and far-reaching," Chris Smith, vice chancellor for advancement, said. "Philanthropy is more than generosity - it's a catalyst for making a difference. These gifts open doors for Mizzou students and transform lives across the communities we serve."

Donors multiplied their impact through 25 challenge opportunities - an increase over last year - unlocking additional support for campus priorities. More than 55 volunteer advocates, also up year over year, energized the effort by inspiring their networks to give.

New this year, supporters also had the opportunity to name one of Mizzou's beloved campus squirrels, with each gift including a membership to the Mizzou Botanic Garden. More than 200 squirrels were named, boosting the garden's member community by more than 40% and supporting the care and enhancement of Mizzou's iconic campus.
