The Public Works Department is made up of various sub-departments including Fleet, Line Repair, Streets/Stormwater and Traffic, Wastewater, and Water. Each week, over 140 employees are responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of existing and new infrastructure across League City which includes everything from roadways and traffic lights to storm drains, sewers, and water production.

Operator Achievement
The Wastewater Department proudly recognizes Senior Plant Operator II Kenneth Printz for obtaining his Certified Water Professional (CWP) certification in the field of water and wastewater. Kenny is now the fourth representative in the Wastewater Department to have undertaken this accomplishment, and the first with dual certification. The TEEX Certified Water Professional Recognition Program honors individual achievements and training excellence in the water and wastewater industry. Earning this certification signifies a comprehensive education in the profession and demonstrates essential safety knowledge and skills, ensuring the protection of both one and their team in this demanding field.
Traffic Department Begins Annual Signal Maintenance
As the new fiscal year begins, the League City Traffic Department is kicking off its annual signal maintenance program. Throughout the program, all traffic signals, signs, luminaires, and cabinets will be thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and evaluated to ensure they are operating at peak performance. Any equipment requiring repair or replacement will be addressed promptly. This proactive maintenance helps prevent future issues and ensures the continued safety, reliability, and efficiency of League City's traffic infrastructure.
Cementech H85 Series Batch Plant Receives Key Upgrades
The Cementech H85 Series Cement Batch Plant continues to serve as a critical asset in the City of League City's infrastructure development efforts. To ensure the continued production of high-quality cement necessary for city-wide construction projects, the batch plant recently underwent a series of important upgrades.

Following the successful completion of these upgrades, the H85 Cement Batch Plant has been returned to full operational status. With restored reliability and improved safety features, the plant has resumed normal operations, continuing to support vital construction and infrastructure projects throughout the City.
