Under the honorary patronage of Minister Tanja Fajon, a youth dialogue was held in Brdo pri Kranju within the framework of the international project SIT DOWN - Peace Child in Concert. More than 170 young artists, representatives of 19 nationalities, including those from crisis areas such as Palestine and Ukraine, held a discussion with Minister Fajon and other participants on global challenges, also featured in the musical Peace Child.

Within five thematic groups, the young participants spoke to representatives of the diplomatic corps, the academia and the civil society. In the group on international peace and security, Minister Fajon joined the discussion alongside Victoria Harrison, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Janneke Vrijland, Ambassador of the Netherlands, Valdet Sadiku, Ambassador of Kosovo, and Georgios Kostakos from the FOGGS Foundation. Among participants in the English-speaking group on safe migrations were Sylvia Groneick, Ambassador of Germany, Akiko Yoshida, Ambassador of Japan, and representatives from the World Federalists and Citizens for Global Solutions organisations. The other three groups were dedicated to discussions on sustainable environmental policies, inclusive societies and intergenerational justice, where the young participants were joined by experts from academic and youth organisations.

Following the event, Minister Fajon said: "Meeting with you today has been special and inspiring. Slovenia believes in the power of youth and in diplomacy, which is also young at heart, because it is you, young people, who are opening up space for new ideas and the future of peace. Your clarity and courage remind us that we cannot take peace for granted but rather that we have to work towards it every day - through dialogue, respect and cooperation. I promise to take your messages into the world, including the United Nations, where Slovenia will preside over the Security Council in December. Your efforts prove that coexistence is not merely an aspiration but a reality which you are cocreating."

The Brdo event is part of the international project SIT DOWN, which connects young people from all over the world through the power of art, while also promoting dialogue and building bridges between diplomacy, culture and sustainable development. By participating in this project, Slovenia is consolidating its commitment to multilateralism and a future cocreated by young people.

On Saturday evening, Minister Fajon will attend the premiere of the Child Peace musical in the Križanke Outdoor Theatre in Ljubljana.
