FONDA, N.Y. --- Montgomery County's annual Youth Day will return on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Village of Fonda Park and surrounding grounds of the Montgomery County Annex Building on Park Street. A rain date has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 15.
The free event offers a day of fun, education and recreation for youth and families from across Montgomery County. Attendees will enjoy bounce houses, an obstacle course, karaoke, interactive demonstrations, games, community exhibits and a variety of activities designed to engage youth of all ages.
Originally established in 2008 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Montgomery County Youth Bureau, Youth Day was intended to be a one-time event. Nearly two decades later, it has grown into one of the county's signature summer traditions, welcoming between 800 and 1,200 children each year.
A complimentary lunch will be provided for all youth attendees. Bottled water, sno-cones, popcorn and additional snacks will be available throughout the day. A food vendor will also be on-site for those wishing to purchase additional food items.
"Youth Day has become one of the highlights of our year," Executive Director of Youth and Veterans Services Brenda Rava said. "What began as a one-time celebration has grown into a countywide tradition because of the incredible support we receive from our community. I am especially grateful to our emergency services agencies and the many organizations, businesses and volunteers who take the time to be part of Youth Day each year. Their demonstrations, activities and commitment to our youth are what make this event such a success. It's so important for children to have the opportunity to learn, explore and have fun in a safe and welcoming environment."
All youth participants must have a completed permission form signed by a parent or guardian. Youth groups planning to attend are encouraged to pre-register by contacting the Montgomery County Youth Bureau with their anticipated attendance numbers. Pre-registration helps organizers prepare wristbands, lunch tickets and raffle tickets in advance for participating groups.
"This is an incredible event that gives families from every corner of Montgomery County the opportunity to spend a fun-filled day together at no cost," Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman said. "I'm extremely proud of Brenda and the many employees, volunteers, community organizations and emergency services personnel who work so hard to make Youth Day possible each year. Their dedication is what has made this event such a lasting success."
