Frank Sofie Sr.
July 8, 1947 - June 21, 2025

Frank Sofie Sr., devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and recycled materials industry leader, passed away at the age of 77.

Frank lived life to the fullest, professionally he was part owner of Southern Metal Processing in St. Louis, Missouri for 40 years, and served as Chair and on the board of the ReMA Mid-Atlantic Region (MAR). Even after his retirement, Frank remained involved, contributing to the Consumers Night Committee and earning the well-deserved title of Lifetime Honorary Board Member.

Outside of work, he was a lover of the outdoors, from fishing and golfing to traveling, eating out, and cheering on his favorite sports team. But the thing he treasured the most was his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his beloved wife and companion for 54 years, Joyce Sofie, and his children, Angie, Frank Jr., Dan, Mike, and Mark. He was also a proud grandfather of seven to Andrew, Matthew, Ryan, Emma, Lydia, Nick, and Mia; all of whom brought him immense joy.

Frank will be remembered for his dedication, sense of humor, and devotion to those who mattered most, both personally and professionally.
