Work causing significant noise will begin on Kyytitie in early 2026

Noisy work starting in January

On Kyytitie, in the vicinity of the Porttisuontie roundabout, blasting work will begin on 12 January 2026. Blasting will be carried out on the roadside next to the traffic lanes from the Porttisuontie roundabout towards Lahdenväylä. The largest single work site is the rock wall at the intersection of Porttisuontie and Kyytitie.

The work will start on 12 January and continue until the end of March. During this period, blasting will be carried out on approximately 20 working days during daytime hours from 7:00 to 18:00, mainly outside peak traffic times. A warning signal will sound before each blast, and traffic will need to be stopped during the blasting.

Noisy work starting in February

In February, construction of a retaining wall will begin along Kyytitie, next to the Porttipuisto business area. Construction is expected to start on 2 February 2026 with drilling of rock anchors, which will not cause significant noise. The actual sheet piling work for the retaining wall, which will cause noise and vibration in the area, is expected to start on 16 February 2026 and continue until the end of May. Noisy work in the area will be carried out on approximately 40 working days during this period. Work will take place on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.

In the area between Kanervantie and Vanha Porvoontie, there may be isolated rock sections that could require minor channel blasting. If rock sections are found and channel blasting needs to be carried out, the work will cause temporary noise and vibration in the area. Any noisy work will be carried out on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00.

Noisy work starting in March

In March, temporary retaining walls will be built between Jokiniemenkatu and Tukkukaupankuja, and piling work for bridges and pile slabs will be carried out. These works will cause significant noise in the area. The work is expected to start on 4 March 2026, when the street area between Jokiniemenkatu-Heidehofintie-Kanervantie will be closed. Blasting will also be carried out in the closed street area, with an estimated duration of about 25 working days. A detour in the area will run via a temporary road built on the Tikkurila Oyj plot.

Noise from the work is expected for about 30 working days. Noisy work will be carried out on weekdays from 7:00 to 18:00. We will provide more detailed information about traffic arrangements and detour routes closer to the start of the work.

If the noise causes disturbing levels indoors, you can collect ear protectors from the mailbox attached to the construction site fence. The mailbox is located at the intersection of Kyytitie and Vanha Porvoontie.
