On February 17, the first day of the Chinese New Year, Acting Consul General Yang Shouzheng attended the Spring Festival celebration hosted by the San Francisco Chinese Chamber of Commerce and delivered a speech. The event was graced by the presence of San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, former Mayor Willie Brown, along with other California and San Francisco elected officials who also addressed the audience. More than 200 guests from various sectors gathered to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Acting Consul General Yang highlighted that, from the Chinese New Year Parade to the social media trend "Becoming Chinese," people in China and the United States are eager to learn more about each other and grow closer. He encouraged all present to continue acting as bridges of friendship, promote sub-national trade and economic ties, strengthen people-to-people exchanges, and work together to foster greater understanding and broader cooperation.
