ASEAN-Korea Centre to Host Trade and Investment Facilitation Mission to Indonesia with Korea Importers Association
- To invite Indonesian and Korean businesses and Indonesian government officials to participate in the Trade and Investment Facilitation Mission (January 20-21, Jakarta) -
The ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary-General Kim Jae-sin), in collaboration with the Korea Importers Association, will host a Trade and Investment Facilitation Mission in Jakarta, Indonesia, from January 20 to 21. The mission aims to provide networking opportunities for Indonesian and Korean businesses. The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) has invited business representatives interested in Indonesia-Korea trade to participate in the Indonesia-Korea Business Forum, Business Matching Sessions, and Industrial Visits. Ten Korean companies from various sectors, including wood, medical equipment, and agricultural products, and over 40 Indonesian companies are expected to take part in this mission.
At the Indonesia-Korea Business Forum on January 20, following the opening ceremony, three presentations will examine trade and investment trends between Indonesia and Korea, as well as related government policies, to strengthen bilateral networks. The first presentation, delivered by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, will introduce the current trade landscape and relevant policies between the two nations. The second presentation, led by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI)*, will focus on its investment-related incentives and measures to enhance investment from Korea. The third presentation will feature a success story from an Indonesian exporting company to Korea, aiming to empower Indonesian firms with practical insights. In the afternoon, Business Matching Sessions will allow participants to form new business relationships and explore trade and investment opportunities.
* BRI is the largest state-owned bank in Indonesia, established in 1895.
On January 21, participants will engage in Industrial Visits to local industries to investigate the latest technologies and trends. Meetings with industry stakeholders will facilitate the creation of new business opportunities and the identification of potential collaboration partners. Additionally, market research will provide valuable insights into the Indonesian market, supporting participants in refining their export and import strategies.
Through this initiative, the AKC aims to explore trade and investment opportunities between Indonesia and Korea while offering a significant platform to understand the economic trends and market characteristics of both countries. Networking opportunities will be facilitated to identify collaboration partners and explore ways to enhance mutual benefits through the sharing of successful cases. The AKC is committed to continuing this initiative as a key effort to strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Korea and ASEAN.
