On July 20, 2026, shortly before 6:00 p.m., North District General Patrol officers were travelling southbound on Salter Street at Selkirk Avenue when they observed a carjacking in progress.
Officers quickly approached a 2020 Ford Explorer where an adult male was physically assaulting a man in his 70's and attempting to pull him out of the vehicle. The suspect fled from officers but was arrested in the 400 block of Flora Avenue after a brief foot pursuit. Officers required the deployment of a conducted energy weapon to during the arrest.
Through their investigation, officers learned that the victim was driving northbound on Salter when the suspect jumped in front of his vehicle, forcing him to stop. The suspect physically assaulted the victim through the open driver window and attempted to pull him out of the vehicle. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require further medical attention.
Dustin Tony Vincent BOUCHARD (32) is charged with Robbery and was detained in custody.
